Boudoir Photography: sensuality in colour.

I recently visited an amazing photography exhibition in Paris titled 'Love Songs: Intimate Photographs.' It featured photographers from different eras capturing moments of intimacy and sharing personal love stories through portraits of their beloved ones. These stories depicted passion, love, and sensuality, evoking both sensuous and exhilarating emotions.

At times, they portrayed undisguised lust and bodily desire. At other times, they captured the ephemerality of the moment, like only the outline of a shoulder in the twilight of a room.

The exhibition was deeply inspiring and revelatory. It led me to ponder a question: what is more appealing to me in the Boudoir genre—black and white photography or color? Even when viewing the most stunning black and white photography, I still found myself drawn to color.

It has been more than 10 years since I made the decision to work exclusively in color. Color has become my main guide in creativity. I feel and express myself primarily through color. It evokes the strongest emotions in me on a physical level.

There is an opinion that black and white photography is ideally suited for the nude genre, seen as a classic method to elevate an image by translating it into graphics. However, my approach is different.

My boudoir photos evoke the soft glow of the evening. The golden light of lamps or candles set the tone for seduction.

Like a flower, I would like the model, to fascinate not only with her silhouette, but also through the color. For the nuances of light to ignite the imagination, to sense the warmth of the skin, to be mesmerized by the intensity of the eyes and the shades of the hair; to be captivated by the red lipstick and immersed in the delicacy of the pink silks.

Color is seductive, it brings an image alive.

The color of clothes and accessories, as well as the interior, continues to reveal the story, bringing a unique signature to each photoshoot.

Red is almost always present in my photography—fatal, alluring, and dangerous. Even the smallest touch of red instinctively conveys the sensual context of the situation.

Black, the color of the night, mystery, and hidden desires. Due to its timeless elegance, this color is an absolute favorite in fashion.

Gold symbolizes luxury, wealth, and abundance. It's also a celebration—the golden sparkle of champagne, sequins, and jewelry.

Nude tones, delicate and sophisticated, evoke comfort and warmth. Being a neutral tone, nude is infinitely versatile, pairing perfectly with almost any other shade.

Burgundy, with its drama and depth, is dominant and intense. It is directly associated with lust and desire.

Powdery pink - a true boudoir shade - exudes romance, femininity, and softness.

These colors, depending on their shades, complement every skin complexion. They introduce clear symbolism into boudoir photography while playing with instincts and evoking emotions.
